Simple 5-Step Process

How Internship Abroad works

From your first click to your first day on the job abroad. A clear, personal process with no guesswork and no stress.

The Process

Five steps to your internship abroad

Whether you choose the Living Profile or Full Service, here is what happens next.

1

Create your Living Profile

Sign up and build your professional digital profile. Add your video introduction, portfolio pieces, skills, and experience. This takes about 30 minutes and costs just £8. Once live, your profile is visible to 300+ verified partner companies worldwide.

2

Personal consultation

If you opt for Full Service, we schedule a one-to-one intake interview. We discuss your career goals, academic requirements, preferred destinations, budget, and timeline. This conversation shapes everything that follows.

3

Company matching

Our local teams in 15+ destinations review your profile and goals, then curate a shortlist of companies. You review the options, we arrange interviews, and together we find the right fit. This typically takes 2-4 weeks.

4

Admin and preparation

Once matched, we handle the paperwork. Visa guidance, accommodation booking, insurance advice, travel planning, and university documentation. You get a pre-departure briefing with everything you need to know.

5

Arrive and thrive

Your local mentor meets you on arrival, helps you settle into your accommodation, and introduces you to your workplace. Throughout your placement, you have weekly check-ins, access to a community of fellow interns, and our 24/7 support line for anything urgent.

Our Story

Built by people who have been there

Internship Abroad was founded by a team that experienced first-hand the challenges of finding quality international work placements. The agencies were expensive, the information was scattered, and the support was minimal once you landed.

We built the platform we wished we had: a transparent, technology-driven service with local teams in every destination, verified companies, and genuine support from application to completion. Today, we connect UK university students with career-defining opportunities in over 30 countries - and we are just getting started.

We believe every student deserves access to international experience, regardless of their background. That is why we offer a £8 Living Profile for independent explorers alongside our comprehensive Full Placement Service. There is always a path forward.

Why Us

What makes Internship Abroad different

We are not just an agency. We are a platform with local teams, verified companies, and a system that works.

Local teams, not remote agents

We have permanent staff in every major destination. They know the companies, the culture, and the city. When something comes up, there is a real person down the road - not a helpline in a different time zone.

Every company is verified

Our team personally visits and vets every partner company. We check working conditions, mentoring quality, and past intern feedback. If a company does not meet our standards, they are not on the platform.

Fair, transparent pricing

No hidden fees, no surprise charges. The Living Profile is £15. Full Service starts from £700 with a pay-on-success model. You know exactly what you are paying for, and you only pay in full once placed.

University-aligned placements

We work with UK universities to ensure placements meet academic requirements. Whether it is a sandwich year, placement module, or Turing Scheme - we provide the documentation your institution needs.

Accommodation sorted

Safe, vetted housing close to your workplace - from shared student flats to homestays. Everything is inspected and booked before you arrive, so you can focus on what matters.

24/7 support line

Emergency support around the clock. Travel issues, work concerns, or homesickness - we are a call away. Your safety and wellbeing always come first.
